What Is SEFi?
SEFi is the use of one or more electrical stimulators with over-skin electrodes combined with an ergometer or a control box (Xcite), which causes muscle contractions in muscles that are weak or paralyzed in a synchronized manner for the execution of a movement.
The different muscle groups, normally involved in a functional gesture, are simultaneously activated by electrical stimulation in perfect synchrony with a device to create a functional activity, such as:
Make a circular movement of the limbs (RT300)
Walk (RT600), stand up (Xcite T.W.O.)
Pick-up objects (Xcite T.W.O.)
Ride an elliptical (RT200) sitting down with your arms and/or legs.
