This manual is intended to be a synthesis of the therapeutic methods using physical agents. It analyzes the therapeutic effects as well as the contraindications and dangers associated with the application of these procedures.
The work is divided into five parts. In the first four, we present basic knowledge of the different physical agents grouped into four families: heat or cold, electricity, electromagnetic fields and waves and electromechanical agents. The fifth part is devoted to the role played by physical agents in the treatment of specific problems.
The book, designed with the concern to establish constant links between theory and practice, clearly explains the different elements specific to each type of treatment. Through exercises and case histories, students learn to develop a method of problem solving and acquire discernment and the ability to intervene judiciously. This book is also intended for any clinician who uses physical agents in their daily practice.
