Perineal assessment in minutes
Thanks to the wireless technology of Liberty and USB Neo, the use of the Pelvimeter is extremely simple and the perineal evaluation (tone test and contractility test) is carried out in a few minutes.
The Liberty Pelvimeter and USB Neo is an instrument for measuring the various functional and organic parameters of the pelvic floor. It makes it possible to determine the origin of its dysfunctions, to orient the choice of revalidation techniques in an objective and optimal way and to control their evolution.
At the end of your pelvimetric assessment, the expert software offers you an adapted therapeutic approach.
Perineal assessment and rehabilitation tool
The Pelvimeter is a device that works with Liberty and USB Neo. It connects to a Universal POD, delivered as standard when ordering the pelvimeter if you have a Liberty, and to be ordered separately if you use a Neo USB.
The Pelvimeter is a perineal assessment and rehabilitation tool. It is associated with an evaluation software based on Marcel CAUFRIEZ's doctoral thesis.
In rehabilitation, it allows the construction of biofeedback exercises against isometric, concentric and eccentric resistance. Like your fingers, the Pelvimeter strengthens proprioception, but in addition it simultaneously provides biofeedback (feedback) to the patient. Learning the perineal lock is faster and fatigue-free for the therapist.
It allows the measurement of the initial inertia index. This index represents the basic tone of the pelvic floor, or more exactly its initial state of tension. It is the sum of the basic tone of the tonic fibers and the passive resistance of the supporting connective tissue.
It also allows the measurement of the cushioning capacity of the perineum during increases in abdominal pressure. This damping capacity reflects the speed of response of the phasic fibers (myotatic reflex) and their functional state.
Tone test
The tonicity test is used to assess: phasic fibers, tonic fibers, myotatic reflex, the presence of fibrosis, neuroperipheral damage, connective tissue distension.
Contractility test
It allows reproducible measurement of maximum force in 10 seconds. This measurement makes it possible to assess the voluntary contractility of the pelvic floor muscles in terms of both intensity and endurance.
Re-education
The Pelvimeter makes it possible to shorten the feedback loop between the patient and the therapist while retaining all the sensitive advantages of manual work.
